This is a photo I took while over New York...
And this is a photo I took when we were over Florida.
There's a huge difference in weather from New York to Florida especially this time of year. I honestly wouldn't change living in Florida for anything. I mean yes I have family and everything up in New York but i've never actually felt like I belonged there and since losing my cousin and grandpa it's hard to be there, and I can't even picture myself living there in the future. I'm not much of a winter person either so that adds to the whole situation. I don't mind going for short periods of time, but I could never live there again...
Bentley on the other hand I was super worried about because it was his first time flying. The vet told me to give him Benadryl to calm him down... I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!! I was so scared because he started foaming at the mouth (which I later learned is the way a cat gets something out of their mouth they don't like) but I was so scared that something was happening to him. I honestly don't know what i'd do without him. We finally made it to the airport and he was crying the whole way because he didn't wanna be in the carrier. I don't blame him I don't like little compartments either. But we made it to the airport and checked the luggage and checked Bentley in. Then it was time to go through security. The line was longer than I had ever seen it before. We made it up to the detectors and I had to take Bentley out to walk through the metal detector. My poor baby was so scared he curled up in my hair. I finally put him back in his carrier and didn't hear a peep from him. He wound up falling asleep. Which was a very good thing. We made it on the plane and got a window seat! I wound up having the whole row to myself...
So that made the ride a bit easier. Going up was rough because we were over the wing (never again) and the noise was so loud that it scared Bentley and he was crying and scratching to get out of the carrier. But the whole time we were up in the air he maybe cried once and that was because we had the bumpiest plane ride i've ever been on. I was even scared about how bumpy it was... Going down was also rough because the engine got loud again. Bentley actually scratched the top zipper open and popped his head out and I had to push him back in. He wasn't too happy. But we had made it and the girl in front of me turned around as we were leaving the plane and she said to me "I sat in front of you this whole time and didn't even know you had a cat." So overall i'd call that a very successful plane ride. And I am a very proud momma!
Below are some other photos I took on the flight...
